ABOUT THE ACADEMIC COACH POSITION: Academic Coaches support students' academic growth and success by helping them develop more effective study strategies, including: Time management and organization Syllabus mapping and creating weekly study schedules Test preparation Reading strategies Leveraging the Study Cycle to maximize learning Creating individualized success plans Developing college-level study strategies Academic Coaches work one on one with students to meet their individualized needs in this year-long commitment.
• Provide one-on-one coaching for undergraduate students that focuses on academic study skills and the transition from high school • Adapt coaching skills to meet the unique needs and requirements associated with specific populations including, but not limited to, students on academic probation and at-risk students • Assist students to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and mutually developed solutions related to academic success and engagement
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: -Sophomore rank or above at the time of employment -Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA -Must be available to work at least 5-10 hours each week -Commitment for at least a year (both Fall and Spring semesters) based on job performance and need -Presently in good standing with the University

We will convey more information about this training once applicants are accepted into this position. Failure to satisfactorily complete all required training will result in not being hired for the 2023-2024 academic year.
