The [Student] Technical Services Assistant will assist the Technical Services Department in the areas of acquisitions, cataloging, and processing. They will report to the Institutional Memory and Scholarship Librarian who oversees all Technical Services activities. Primary activities include entering invoices into the ILS system (Alma), processing library materials, and copy-cataloging. Copy-cataloging tasks may include helping with reclassification projects and adding second copies to the collection. Other duties assigned as needed.
1.Enter paid invoices into Alma. 2.Process new and donated books through stamping and labeling/relabeling. 3.Assist with the reclassification projects from Dewey Decimal to Library of Congress call numbers. May include the enhancement of cataloging record in OCLC Connexion. 4.Perform copy-cataloging of books using OCLC Connexion with proper training as delegated by supervisor. 5.Provide assistance in other Technical Services projects and activities as assigned by library staff.
