The Accessibility Services Student Assistant is a paraprofessional office job within Accessibility Services.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Proctoring student exams at the Testing Center. Ensuring the confidentiality of students and exams. Reading/scribing for exams as needed. Checking the Testing Center email regularly. Ensuring all exam requests are scheduled accurately, and completed exams are scanned, uploaded, printed and filed appropriately, if applicable. Signing out exams that faculty pick up in-person. Sending emails to faculty regarding exams. Assisting students and faculty with any appropriate requests/tasks. Directing staff, students, parents, and faculty to the appropriate resources via phone or in-person. Ensuring that all tasks during each shift are either finished or handed off appropriately. Regularly ensuring that the Testing Center, student worker desk, and the break room are organized, well-stocked, and clean. Answering questions about Accessibility Services.
Ability to exercise discretion regarding confidential information. Ability to work an average of 6-12 hours per week during the academic year; and/or up to 29 hours a week during the summer. Ability to commit to the position for the entire academic year. Strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills. Ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively. Exceptional attention to detail. Experience using databases and Microsoft 365. Attend staff meetings for all Accessibility Services’ employees.
