Description

The Student Archives Collection Manager is responsible for the overall organization and management of physical resources in the Archives under the guidance of the Institutional Memory Librarian. Responsibilities include completing reorganization tasks; processing new donations and acquisitions; submitting systematic reports on work completion and environmental conditions of the archives; and evaluating collection conditions. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Organization and management of physical resources in Archives 2. Completing reorganization tasks (filing, returning materials to shelving location, reboxing/rehousing materials as needed, etc.) 3. Processing new donations and acquisitions 4. Submitting reports about work completion and environmental conditions of the Archives 5. Evaluating and reporting condition of collections (physical signs of deterioration, discoloration, etc.) 6. Checking and promptly responding to emails from supervisors, student colleagues, and archives patrons 7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Attention to details. 2. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 3. Good organization and computer skills. 4. Must be able to operate in a team environment, communicate and work collaboratively with student and professional colleagues. 5. Must be punctual and reliable; work availability must coincide with supervisor and scheduling needs. 6. Must be familiar with using Microsoft Excel and Word and navigating Google Drive. 7. Ability to work independently when necessary; ability to understand and proactively solve problems. 8. Ability and willingness to learn new skills. Physical Requirements 1. Sometimes requires pushing carts of books, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 2. Requires lengthy periods of sitting and standing.
